The mission of the New York State HPV Coalition is to increase human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination rates and decrease HPV-related disease in New York State through education, coordination, advocacy, and leadership.

 

Steering Committee – All business of the NYS HPV Coalition is guided by the 17 member Steering Committee. See home page for a complete list.  The Steering Committee is Chaired by the American Cancer Society and the Community Healthcare Association of New York State.

Sub-committees focus on specific areas of intervention. This action-oriented coalition is structured to promote statewide collaboration and to facilitate achieving specific objectives created and advanced by the sub-committees to impact HPV vaccination rates in New York State. The current sub-committees are:

  • Provider Education –  charged with planning and executing interventions focused on healthcare providers.
  • Public Education –  focused on planning and implementing parent and teen interventions.
  • New York City Regional Committee – HPV Vaccination Initiatives focused on NYC.
  • NYS HPV Health Plan Workgroup – A group of health plans and other stakeholders working collaboratively to achieve the statewide HPV vaccination goal. 
     

General Members – Organizations and individuals may sign-up to be General Members of the Coalition.  General Members are entitled to participate on quarterly full Coalition calls, receive HPV Vaccine-related information and updates, and work with others on one or more Coalition sub-committees to increase HPV vaccination rates in New York.

Working together, the Coalition has developed a statewide HPV Vaccination Plan, is implementing collaborative activities, and amplifying existing HPV vaccination initiatives.
