NYS HPV Summit Registration

Up to 3 Free CME and CE Credit Hours

The New York State HPV Coalition would like to invite you to join us at our first ever NYS HPV Vaccination Summit on Thursday, April 4th, from 9am-12:45pm via Zoom, to discuss ways that we can increase HPV vaccination rates and protect more adolescents from developing preventable cancers. Sessions will focus on the impact of HPV-related cancers in New York, our current vaccination rates, and evidence-based strategies to increase HPV vaccination starting at age 9. There will be special concurrent breakouts to focus on interventions in different health system settings and by community organizations. We will end with an overview of policy issues that impact HPV vaccination and how we can create change on a state and national level.

The HPV vaccine is a safe and effective way of preventing 6 different types of cancers in children starting at age 9. However, in 2021, only 40% of adolescents completed the HPV vaccine series by their 13th birthday and are fully protected against these types of cancers. In most parts of the state, that number is even lower.

We encourage anyone with an interest in cancer prevention and HPV vaccination to attend, including providers, health systems staff, government representatives, community-based/non-profit organization staff, nurses, pharmacists, or anyone who has been impacted by HPV-related cancers.

You can find the agenda and a promotional flyer for the event for your convenience. Please share with those in healthcare and community health promotion.
