The HPV-Free Teen TikTok Challenge has ENDED

HPV-Free Teen TikTok Challenge Guidelines

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a common infection in the United States. Around 85% of people are exposed to HPV during their lifetime and half of people by age 24. Some types of HPV may cause genital warts and 6 types of cancer later in life. The good news is that there is a vaccine that is effective in preventing HPV and cancer. The HPV vaccine is a series of 2 shots given 6 months apart that can be given as early as age 9, along with other important vaccines. However, many teens throughout the state have not received all of their HPV shots.

The New York State HPV Coalition is hosting a TikTok challenge for teens in key counties across the state to create a TikTok video about the HPV vaccine. This challenge is a way to spread the word about the HPV vaccine and encourage your peers to find out more about it. Interested teens can create a 1 minute or less TikTok about the HPV vaccine and be entered to win a prize. Each entry will be judged by the Coalition, and one winner from each eligible county will receive a $50 gift card.

You can have as many people as you want in your video, but only the content creator can receive the prize.
